Claus, Paris [ Breakfast ]

Bonjour everyone,

I recently visited one of the top breakfast place in Paris, Claus.

As soon as you google Breakfast or brunch at Paris. Claus will be one of the café that pops out on the list.

I will never forget the first time when I went to the café without making any reservations, I waited for nearly 2 hours and I am not exaggerating. Sadly, 2 hours later, I still cant get a seat. So I told myself that I have to come back to find out about this place.

Claus's owner Claus Estermann was formerly a fashion PR and had once worked with big brands like YSL and givenchy. He has now expanded his passion from fashion to food. Creating a unique food fashion through his Salon. The concept of the salon is to make you feel à la Maison, which means at home. At the same time a touch of Parisien Chic in it.

I made my reservation at 8.30am. I am never a morning person but claus will probably be one of the few places that I would break my rules for. Waking up at 7am and walked through the Morning breeze in Paris is probably one of the best thing to do. I met up with another blogger from HongKong at the salon and was hoping that it better not let me down.

I arrived at the salon at 8.30am sharp and the lower level of the salon is already full. I was led by a waiter to my table upstairs.

This is how it looks like in the interior. Its clean and bright with flavors of Parisien Chic. So comfortable which made me feel home.

Claus serves about 5 different variety of breakfast, from French to German. Their classics is "Le Claus" and "Le Frühstück". Prices varies from 16-32 Euros and of course you can order from à la carte menu. They have a wide range of pastries and viennoiseries.

I took "Le Frühstück" that day. Which comes with a hot drink, freshly squeezed fruit juice, a selections of breads and brioche, A Frühstücksteller (ham and cheese plater) with a boiled egg. Lastly for dessert is a small müsli and a pistachio-raspberry Financier.

I would say the breads were superb and my favorite was definatly the cinnamon brioche. It was so moist and sweet with strong flavors of cinnamon. Absolutely loving it. Not forgetting to mention their organic homemade Jam. Everything just matches perfectly.

My friend and I were enjoying ourselves so much over the breakfast talking about our plans after Paris and our young wild dreams.

After having the breads as a starter. They served me my Frühstücksteller. Which has parma ham, some veg and tomatoes, cream cheese, goat cheese and I personally asked for a poached egg instead of boiled egg. Looks good huh? :)

And to end the whole breakfast, here comes my müsli and financier.

It was pretty early that day when I visited them. So they didnt have much cakes on display. But usually coming to brunch hour. You will see tons of cakes at the counter. Which I had took away some during my previous visit with them. They were delicious with no doubt.

By saying delicious, I meant it. As alot of you know that I am a pastry maker and I could get really picky on sweet treats and breads. So yea..

Although the price is alittle high but this place is definately worth a try. Maybe one of the morning, waking up in Paris and you feel like treating yourself a good breakfast and indulging yourself in some Parisien Chic salon.

You may consider Claus.
